Northland Power headquarters was happily growing in the Yonge-St. Clair Neighborhood in Toronto, but this sustainable energy provider needed more space to support their team. Instead of relocating offices, an opportunity arose to take over three new floors in their existing building. That meant they could stay close to home and keep the move simple. Working in their favor, those existing floors were built with DIRTT offering an optimal baseline layout and flexibility.

The DIRTT Construction System is modular, allowing Northland to make an array of changes to their new office with less cost and less disruption. In spaces where the layout suited them, wall panels could be easily replaced to refresh the aesthetic. In areas where the floorplan needed an update, walls were disassembled, reconfigured, and reassembled quickly and easily. Without the dust that comes with ripping out drywall, Northlanders could work in the space while renovations were being completed. Even the team members with allergies weren’t disrupted. Repurposing the interiors aligned perfectly with Northland’s brand and focus on green infrastructure. In the end, the project was completed on time and on budget while reusing 75% of the existing DIRTT.
